Home » Track & Field NewsSomething Special is BrewingFebruary 24, 2013 By Charles Battles of Mt. Zion Spring SportsMount Zion boys track and field took 4th Place at the Parkview Invitational on Saturday with some of the best competition in the state present. The effort was led by Junior standouts Marquett Simmons and Andrew Nsuk. Both ran good times and placed in their respective events. Our 4x100 and 4x400 were both in the mix and we also stood out in the hurdles. Kirkland Varnado was first in the 110 hurdles overall. He was followed closely by Fred Rodgers. Leading the way in the 300 was Josh Simmons aka Monster. Other standouts included Allan Dawson and Joel Johnson. Jeril Lymon led the way in the throws and Keon Hobbs, Jarmon Brown and Rahkeem Collier led the way in the distance. On the girls side standouts were Lauren Smith, Arion Marshal, Keona Hobbs, Esther Johnson and Zaria Ruffin. Way to go bulldogs keep up the good work.
