Baseball update

The varsity and JV baseball teams are continuing their successful seasons. The varsity won their 4th consecutive game by defeating Banneker 5-1. The varsity team is now tied for second in the region standings. Star of the game are Jwanni Austin 2 hits and 15 strikeouts which is a school record. Other stars of the game were Kenneth Wiggins 2-3 game winning hit and Quaterrio Simpson. The varsity have won games over Tri-Cities 5-1 and North Clayton 11-4. Other impact players are E.J. Parks, Sam Glickman, Aaron Harris, LaDarius Mimms, Jordan Worthem, Ace Smith, Troy Cushman and David Smith

 The JV baseball team moved their record to 4-1 with wins over Mundy’s Mill 6-0, Riverdale 13-5, Morrow 16-6 and Lovejoy 15-0. Impact players are Chris Patterson, Mike Scott, Reginald Vaughn, Terrell James, J.R.Loftin great pitching performance.  Faculty, staff and students, come out and support both programs as the JV will have home games Thursday against Jonesboro (5:00pm)and Saturday Doubleheader versus Drew and Langston Hughes (Starts at 11:00 am.) The varsity will play Friday at home versus Forest Park. It will be STUDENT NIGHT! Admission is $1.00 before game time at 5:30.
