Lady Mustangs Lose to East Meck

Friday night the Lady Mustangs played East Meck. With East Meck being one of the strongest teams in the conference, no one was expecting much out of this game. But, the girls just wanted to play. East started strong scoring 18 points in the 1st qtr to our 7, but the girls rallied in the second and scored 19 of their own. The girls were down by 10 at halftime. Again, our girls came out strong at the beginning of the 3rd to pull within 6 points. The East Meck coach called a timeout, made some adjustments and they pulled away. The final score was East 57 and MP 42. But, the girls put up a great fight with a very good team. Courtney Zona had 19 points including 5 3-point field goals. Tiffani Stephens scored 10 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots. Nicole Iacopetti had 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals. The girls play Providence at home Tuesday night.
