The game stayed close in the early minutes of the first half, but soon the Bears would pull away as they took an extensive lead going into halftime leading 62-34. Despite the Jegos best efforts on the court, Phoenix College, would dominate the second half as they maintained a 50% FG percentage and 53.3% from behind the arch. They would go on to win the game by a final score of 117-83 earning their tenth win of the season and improving their winstreak to six consecutive games.
The Bears impressively had four players with double digit scoring. Jal Rial came off the bench to score 10 points in the game, Center, Patric Massey, went 7/9 from the floor putting up 14 points, 8 boards, and 2 blocks. Isaiah Strong had a strong performance as he went 7/13 from the floor and shot 60% from three point range. Strong would end up with 22 points and 5 assists on the night. Leading all scorers was #3 Chris Solomon who put 39 points on the board for the Bears. Solomon shot 50% from long distance, grabbed 4 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, and had 1 steal. Chris Mason and Marquez Jackson both chipped in 9 points while Mason pulled down 9 boards and Jackson grabbed 10. Calvin Carr came off the bench to score 8 points and grab 7 rebounds while point guard, James Pierce, dished out 7 assists. Phoenix College will travel to Scottsdale Community College in their next contest to take the Artichokes. Scottsdale has a 9-6 overall record and is ranked second for division 2 ACCAC basketball behind Phoenix College. The game will take place Saturday, January 5th at 4pm.
