The opportunities were there, but Blue Springs South wrestling team couldn’t quite capitalize Tuesday night as the Jaguars fell 36-33 to host Rockhurst.
South surrendered 24 points in forfeits, but still received victories from Savhon Alexander (113 pounds), Kyle Montalto (126), Cole Foley (132), Erick Hicks (145), Austin Eads (152) and Zac Storey (170). But Jaguar coach Doug Black said he thought his squad let a few points slip away.
“Our kids had a strong showing, but we have got to learn to finish off a match,” Black said. “When we have a guy in trouble, we need to finish it and go for the kill. We can’t let teams hang around and hang around.”
