Planning is underway for the 4th Annual Fall Sports Kick-Off FUNdraiser that will be hosted by the East Ridge High School Cheer Boosters and held on Sunday, August 12th at Woody’s Roadhouse in Woodbury!! This has always been a REALLY FUN event which includes a spaghetti dinner, silent auction and live entertainment from the School of Rock! Please see the attached flyer. Not only is this a fun event, but Woody’s Roadhouse has been one of our most lucrative fundraisers over the past two years. For this event to be successful once again, we will be counting on all of you for your support in our efforts. Here is some VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION regarding our 4th Annual Fall Sports Kick-off FUNdraiser at Woody’s Roadhouse on August 12th. In the past couple of years, the Silent Auction portion of this event has been really important in making this a very successful event. So this is what we would like you to do to help contribute to the cause: We are asking each member of the cheer squad and their family to be responsible for contacting the one business that has been assigned to you on the attached solicitation list. We would like this to be a fun activity for the girls---something they can do to help directly with fund raising for their club. We are then asking each member of the cheer squad and their family to be responsible for making a basket with the donations they have been given to be auctioned off at the FUNdraiser. Here are some suggestions for contacting a business:· Go as a group with girls from your team and be sure to wear your ER cheer t-shirt and bow in your hair.· Have a copy of the attached flier with you so you can talk about the event and leave it with the business.· Follow up with the contact after your initial presentation and collect the donations. If possible, assign a retail value to the donation.· Be prepared to answer questions such as "Who is the fund-raiser for?" ERHS Cheer Booster Club. "What will the donation funds be used for?" To help cover coaches salaries, travel fees to camp and competition fees.
We have also attached an example of a solicitation letter that you can use. Just fill in blanks, sign your name and feel free to use as you see fit.
Our Cheer Booster Club non profit donation information, including tax ID number, etc. is available if the business asks for it. Just let us know if you need it and we will get it to you via e-mail as soon as possible.
If you have other contacts you would like to approach for auction donations, please feel free to go ahead and contact them. The more auction items we have, the more money we will make!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Stacey Wickman at 651-295-9387 or wickman4@msn.com.
All donations must be ready to bring to practice on Wednesday, August 1st and Thursday, August 2nd. If you are unable to attend practice on one of these days, or if you would like to drop your donation off early (this would be great!), you will need to arrange an alternative
by contacting Stacey.
Some things to remember:
Deadline for handing your donation: August 1st and 2nd.
Good luck and have fun!!!! Stacey Wickman, Jenny Dreher and Denise Naylor Schwanz Woody’s Roadhouse Planning Committee ERHS Cheer Boosters
