Home » Boys' Golf NewsNew GOLF RULE for 2012December 16, 2011 By Bret Brookins of East Ridge Boys GolfRecently I was informed that there is a new rule for this year. You ARE allowed to use range finders. There are a couple stipulations and you should be aware.
1. You must help others if they ask for yardage 2. slow play will not be acceptable. You must keep up otherwise you will get charged!
I would tell you that if you play with a range finder currently, you will know the help they can give. If you don't ask you're friends "do they really help?" It's all a personal choice.
Someone recently said they didn't agree with them because not all golfers will have them and they will have an advantage knowing the correct distance. I agree, but I also know that the rules state you must help others if they ask.
Have a great Holdiay!
