Week one schedule TRYOUTS!

Golfers and parents,

Today is a great day almost 80 degrees and it’s March!  I hope everyone has enjoyed the first five days of Spring Break and are ready for tryouts.  We will have our tryouts starting on Monday March 19^th.  The schedule will be as follows:

Monday 3-19

3:30 all players meet in Coach Stofers room (upper yellow pod) Team talk and then putting in the Library.  Please bring only your PUTTERS.  We will finish practice between 5:00 and 5:30.

Bring your signed copy of the policy manual Last page only to confirm you read the rules and agree to them.  Also bring your copy of the clothing orders.  They need to get ordered and returned for the season.  (Parents version also)

Tuesday 3-20

3:30 meet at Prestwick.  Full bag today tryout rounds will be either the front or back 9.  You will need to make sure you dress appropriately for the course.  Shorts or dress type pants, collared shirt.  NO SWEAT PANTS or Jeans, NO TEE Shirts and NO NON-Golf hats.  (BILLS OF THE HATS MUST BE FORWARD AT ALL TIMES.  Please pay close attention to the rules.  If you don’t have the rules sheet please look on the ihigh site.

Wednesday 3-21

Practice at Prestwick!  Meet at the range at 3:30 ready to practice.  We might play rounds or hit on the range and putt.  All practices will run until approximately 5:30.

Thursday 3-22

Practice at Prestwick!  Meet at the Range at 3:30 ready to Practice.

Friday 3-23

Cuts may be made after Friday’s practice.  We will meet with Tom Wahl head professional at Prestwick who will discuss the rules of Prestwick and the caddie program.

Things to remember:

1. 1.       Be on time!
2. 2.       Dress appropriately at all times
3. 3.       Act appropriately at all times
4. 4.       No cells phones during practice otherwise they will be confiscated and parents will have to retrieve them.
5. 5.       Thank the staff at Prestwick every chance you get for their continued support of the East Ridge High School golf Program.
6. 6.       Check the forecast for weather and conditions.

Get plenty of rest and relax, Monday will come soon and the season is almost underway.  Have a wonderful last couple of days of Break, don’t forget to practice putting!
