Hello Team and Parents,
Thanks for another good week. Thanks for attending the parent meeting at the 2 mile "Under the Lights Run".
Teachers go back to school during the day this week. If you notice from now on the calendar states that practice is at 3:30. This begins tomorrow. However, Coach Gramer will have an alternate practice at 8:30am on Monday and maybe Tuesday for those who would rather beat the heat and get your run over with. Coach Ness and I will be there at 3:30. PLEASE bring water labeled with your name (no sharing water bottles). It is so very important to stay hydrated. You need to be intentional and not just drink water etc. after you are already thirsty. This will also be very important for our meet on Friday (please note the bus times and race times on the calendar). Water is great and some sports drinks are good because of electrolyte replenishment with some good sources of fuel too (they are not all alike however, and many are high in sugar and calories so be careful. Please ask or do some research for the best ones. I start with water and do use sport drink but am careful to choose good ones). Finally, please thank Coach Gramer for offering another practice time!!!
Also, please start strategizing your sleep! Now that practice is in the afternoon, you can end up in a bad habit of staying up too late. Then, when school starts, your body can have a hard time adjusting. Sleep is very important. It is one of the main ways your body recovers from your day including your workout.
We really mean it, keep up the amazing work ethic!
