Bardstown opened its season on a winning note, with the Tiger girls grabbing a 4-1 win Monday over visiting Taylor County, while the Tiger boys topped the Cardinals 3-2.

The Tigers swept all four doubles matches in the win over Taylor County, with the No. 1 boys’ squad of Clayton Brooks and John Stone and No. 2 team of Cole Cambron and Nathan Spalding each notching victories. In girls’ action, Anna Jones and Gabi Hamilton teamed up to win the No. 1 doubles match, while Brianna Patterson and Riley Smith won No. 2 doubles.

The Tigers also got wins from Austin Bogardus in boys’ No. 3 singles, and Emalea Bischoff and Hannah Welch proved victorious in No. 2 and No. 3 girls’ singles, respectively.

Bardstown is scheduled to visit Marion County today.
