Banshees close with monster run

Down 39-29 to visiting Campbellsville with five minutes to go, things were looking rough for Bethlehem.

But the Banshees were just getting started, finishing the game with a 24-0 run to grab a 53-39 win over the Eagles (6-17).

Shawn Zellers delivered a huge effort for Bethlehem as the senior posted a double-double with a team-high 23 points and 10 rebounds. She also had two steals and an assist. Addie Alm pitched in 11 points and five rebounds.

The Banshees (6-12) forced 25 Eagle turnovers while coughing it up 15 times. Bethlehem visited Anderson County, ranked No. 2 in the state, after press time Tuesday. The Banshees visit Fort Knox on Thursday.

Tigers get home win

Shatonda Calbert had nine points and teammates Karis Rogers and Kasia Stone added eight apiece as Bardstown used balanced scoring to pick up its fifth win of the season, 55-14, Monday over Eminence (5-11).

The Tigers improved to 5-19 overall, winning for the second time in their past three games. Bardstown visited Danville after press time Tuesday, and is next in action Thursday when Oldham County visits. The Colonels dealt the Tigers a 73-20 loss earlier in the season at Buckner.
