Hatley wraps up Division 3-2A

Hatley, trying to repeat as Class 2A North champions, wrapped up its first Division 3-2A title under coach Chris George with Monday night's 5-2 win against East Webster.

Hatley scored three third-inning runs to back Lesley Hudson (13-6) as the Lady Tigers improved to 14-8, 6-0.

Hatley added a pair of fifth-inning runs and the Lady Wolverines scored two in the seventh.

Deanna Wright and Taylor Barrett each had a pair of Hatley's eight hits, one of those a home run from Wright.

Sawyze Hollendhead took the loss for East Webster (11-6, 3-2).

The 2011 MHSAA playoffs begin on April 29. Hatley will take on the second-place team from Division 4-2A.
