Friday: at Natchez The Buzz: Top-ranked Wildcats have won 30 consecutive regular-season games. They'll put that streak on the line Friday night when they make the long road trip to Natchez in the Region 3-6A opener. 2. Olive Branch 4-0 2 Last week: Beat Memphis University School 43-33. Friday: at Southaven The Buzz: Conquistadors scored 29 fourth-quarter points to extend their winning streak to 19. Quarterback Sam Craft led the way, rushing for 153 yards and 3 TDs and throwing for 196 yards and another TD. 3. Picayune 3-0 3 Last week: Beat Ocean Springs 35-21. Friday: at Pearl River Central The Buzz: Preston Dedeaux finished with 151 rushing yards as the Maroon Tide avenged one of its two losses from last season. Picayune looks to extend its 15-game winning streak over rival Pearl River Central on Friday in battle of unbeatens. 4. Brandon 4-0 5 Last week: Open. Friday: vs. Terry The Buzz: Bulldogs, off to their best start since Jerious Norwood and Co. went undefeated during the 2001 regular season, host Terry for homecoming this week. Brandon is averaging 39.5 points per game. 5. Noxubee County 5-0 7 Last week: Beat West Point 6-0. Friday: vs. Kemper County The Buzz: Defensive lineman Dylan Bradley was all over the field as the Tigers earned their second consecutive shutout after blanking Aberdeen the week before. Noxubee makes the biggest leap in this week's rankings. 6. Petal 3-1 6 Last week: Open. Friday: at Hattiesburg The Buzz: Panthers begin what is shaping up to be a brutal Region 3-6A slate against Pine Belt rival Hattiesburg, which sports a 4-0 record. Petal blocked two punts and returned them for TDs in last year's 37-14 win over HHS. 7. Biloxi 2-1 8 Last week: Open. Friday: at D'Iberville The Buzz: Indians travel to take on undefeated Warriors in Region 4-6A opener for both teams. John Shannon hopes his team can continue its prolific scoring after putting up 63 and 70 points in its last two games vs. Gautier and Long Beach. 8. South Panola 2-2 4 Last week: Lost to Bentonville, Ark., 41-6. Friday: vs. Horn Lake The Buzz: Tigers had no answer for Bentonville (ranked 12th nationally by MaxPreps) and have now dropped games this season to No. 1-ranked teams in Alabama and Arkansas. SP plays Horn Lake, then make trip to Olive Branch on Sept. 28. 9. Pascagoula 3-0 NR Last week: Open. Friday: vs. West Harrison The Buzz: Panthers make Super 10 debut this season, having shut out two (Gulfport and Harrison Central) of their first three opponents and also picking up a Week 2 win against Ocean Springs. 10. West Point 2-2 9 Last week: Lost to Noxubee County 6-0. Friday: vs. Lake Cormorant The Buzz: Green Wave's two losses this season have been by narrow margins, falling to South Panola on a last-second field goal and getting stopped by Noxubee County late on Friday.
