Dalton Chapman singled to drive in Lucas Kennedy and scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch in the bottom of the seventh inning Saturday as Danbury's baseball team defeated Margaretta 4-3 in a non-conference matchup. Branden Burke struck out four and walked one while allowing three runs (one earned) and two hits in seven innings for the victory. "His last two outings have been phenomenal," Lakers coach Adam Steinbrick said. "He pitched great. That's huge. And (Cory) Schenk's been throwing well. It's great to get a second guy going. "(Burke) settled down and regained focus. He slowed his mechanics down after rushing a little. He and Schenk are throwing first-pitch strikes." Burke and Kennedy doubles for 7-9 Danbury. "We're starting to swing the bats," Steinbrick said. "Guys are playing together and playing with confidence. They're playing as a team and I'm excited about that."
