LAKESIDE TOWNSHIP -- Lindsay Mark won the 110 hurdles and Jacob Fultz the 800, but Danbury's girls and boys track teams finished third Tuesday in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference.

Gibsonburg won the girls portion of the meet while Toledo Christian finished first for the boys.

Mark established a season best in the 110 hurdles in 17.9 seconds.

"(Tuesday) was against TAAC teams so I wanted it," she said. "I'll try to improve my time. The coaches want me at 16.9 by the end of the season."

Mark was also second in the 300 hurdles (55.8) for a season best.

"Lindsay had a really nice day," Lakers coach Drew Wicks said. "She's gaining confidence and becoming a much stronger runner."

Fultz ran the 800 in 2:09.3.

"Toledo Christian and Gibsonburg are strong so it was nice to compete and come out on top," he said.

Fultz was TAAC champ in the event and has a bit of a rivalry with Toledo Christian's Sam Arnsby, who was second Tuesday. Fultz qualified to regionals last year.

"I'd like to be TAAC champ and move up to state this year," Fultz said.

Wicks would like to see Fultz drop a few more seconds and establish a personal best at districts or regionals. His personal best of 2:06 came at regionals last season.

"He's running strong and comfortable," Wicks said.

Katie Almendinger won the pole vault Tuesday for the Lakers.

All four members of Danbury's girls 4X800 broke three minutes for the first time this season Tuesday. The relay finished at 11:35.6 to shave 20 seconds off its previous season best.
