Cory Schenk notched his second win of the season and seven of the nine batters in Danbury's lineup had at least one hit as the Lakers beat Emmanuel Christian 10-5 in the Toledo Area Athletic Conference. Schenk (2-0) walked two and struck out none while allowing five runs (one earned) and five hits in six innings. Danbury (2-4, 1-0) trailed 4-0 before surging ahead. "It was good to see the production spread out," Lakers coach Adam Steinbrick said. Schenk and Caleb Helline each drove in two runs while Branden Burke, Brandon Bahnsen and Zach Kalinoski each scored twice for Danbury. "We want our pitchers to throw first-pitch strikes, the defense to catch and throw, and the offense to put the bat on the ball," Steinbrick said. "With our bats coming alive we got some things done. We'll be aggressive and try to make things happen. "We need to get consistent, build momentum and good things will happen."
