Downsville Boys Start season off strong Girls lose

Downsville Boys 46, Franklin 41                                       
The Downsville Boys started off the season strong with a 46-41 victory over Franklin in a Tri-Valley League meet at Walton. Jeremy Nimmo won the shot put (35 feet 10 inches) and the discus (77-10). Justin Merill (800, long jump) and Michael Walker (400, triple jump also won two events for Downsville. Brandon Demund led Franklin with three wins in the 110 hurdles, the 400 hurdles, and the high jump.

Downsville Girls 41, Franklin 52

Katie Nuzzo won the 1500 and 3000 to lead the Downsville Lady Eagles but it wasnt enough as Franklin won 52-41. Raquel Orelowitz won three events (100, 200, 400). Salina Polanco also won two events the shot put and discus.
