Harmon Wrestlers Goes To Salina, Kansas

December 19, 2011
By Derrick Allen of Harmon High School

After the hawks got demolished as a team, and as individuals against Atchison high school, and Bishop Ward, they found the strength and the knowledge on how to win again. Friday, December 16,2011 Harmon wrestling coaches picked six unique wrestlers and headed over to Salina, Kansas. On Saturday, December 17,2011, all six of Harmon wrestlers placed in the top 4 places. Two of Harmon wrestlers Daryl Williams (10-1-1) and Jesus Flores (10-3) placed 2nd. I knew these two guys would do great in the tournament anyways. Moving on to the younger group (which I don’t know their records) but freshman Hussam Alghosain did pretty good as well. Ranking 3rd place in the tournament, and from what I hear, he’s a fast learner and a pretty good wrestler and could be looking at state as well. Maybe a little more practice and more knowledge of the sport will give him the extra push. Sophomore Gage Peters dominated a couple wrestlers in the first period but met his match and took 3rd place in the tournament. Quandel Valentine (Freshman) placed 4th and Pedro Conde took 3rd place. Great job and well done by the Harmon Hawks wrestling coaches and team. The coaches are getting their wrestlers well prepared. Looking forward to seeing more of this hawks domination.
