Graves County High School Fall Festival, basketball scrimmages set for November

The Graves County Eagles' and Lady Eagles' basketball teams both have scheduled scrimmages during November to warm up for their seasons.

Coach Amy Carrico's Lady Eagles will scrimmage the Lady Tigers at Murray High School at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19. The boys will play an intrasquad blue/white scrimmage at the Eagles' Nest Gymnasium at 6 p.m. the same day. "It will be open to the public. So, anyone wishing to attend is more than welcome," said coach Terry Birdsong.

The girls will visit Henderson County to scrimmage at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 23. Meanwhile, the boys will host Henderson County in a scrimmage at 7 p.m. that same day.

The Graves County High School Fall Festival is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 24. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students. Admission is discounted $1 for spectators who donate canned food. The doors open at 5 p.m. A chili supper priced at $3 each runs in the cafeteria from 5:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. A sixth grade basketball shoot-out takes place from 5:15 p.m. to 6:35 p.m. A GCHS varsity co-ed cheerleading performance is set for 6:50 p.m. The boys' basketball varsity and junior varsity teams play an intrasquad blue/white scrimmage starting at 7 p.m. A Middle School cheerleader performance will take place at 7:50 p.m. The GCHS varsity ballgame cheerleaders perform at 7:55 p.m. The girls' basketball blue/white scrimmage takes place at 8 p.m.

The boys' final warm-up appearance will be against Louisville Seneca. That will be at a preseason jamboree at Louisville Male High School at 11 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, 10 a.m. Central Time, Saturday, Nov. 28. The JV game precedes it at 9:30 a.m. EST, 8:30 a.m. CST.
