Home » Boys' Basketball NewsBulldogs vs. HermannFebruary 3, 2010 By Jason Harrell of South Callaway High SchoolHermann 45, South Callaway boys (V) 40 By RYAN BOLAND The Fulton Sun South Callaway was in front 17-13 at halftime and 28-26 to start the fourth quarter, but was outscored by Hermann 19-12 over the final 8 minutes. The Bearcats also bested the Bulldogs 44-27 on Jan. 17 in the championship of the South Callaway Tournament. "It was tight the whole way, it was defensive warfare," Bulldogs head coach Jason Harrell said of Tuesday night's matchup. "Hermann is so good on defense and we played to our potential on defense. We got back to guarding like we're capable. "It's nice to watch two fundamental teams playing to their potential." Senior forward Corry Adams and junior guard Cody Rogers ended up with 11 points apiece to pace South Callaway (11-7), which has lost five of its last seven. Junior guard Bryan Lechner contributed 10 points. Jake Schannuth topped the Bearcats with a game-high 15 points and Greg Wright chipped in with 14. The Bulldogs -- sparked by sophomore guard Konrad Kemper's 11 points -- prevailed in the junior varsity game 30-28.
