The South Bend Riley softball team heads into sectionals on Monday ranked as the #1 team in the state of Indiana in 4A.
The Wildcats, 25-0, open up sectional play Monday at 7pm against Adams at Penn. The Semifinals of the 4A Penn Sectional are Tuesday, May 22nd with the championship game set for Thursday, May 24th.
Riley is followed up in the 4A poll by Center Grove, Lake Central, Northridge (22-1) and Floyd Central.
In 3A, Mishawaka Marian remains #1 in the state with a 24-1 record. The Knights only loss is to Riley.
Marian will face off with arch rival St. Joe Monday at 6pm at Newton Park in the 3A Sectional opener. The Semifinals are Wednesday May 23rd with the championship set for Thursday, May 24th.
Fairfield (22-7) is ranked 7th in 3A.
In 2A, Rochester is ranked 2nd in the state behind South Putnam. The Zebras are 25-0.
