Home » Baseball NewsSaginaw Baseball Season PreviewMarch 8, 2011 By Antonio Flores of Saginaw High SchoolA year after a disappointing 2009-2010 season the Saginaw Rough Riders who finished 5th in district are ready to bounce back and have their first successful baseball season in school history. This is the only school that coach David Vega has not led to the playoffs and in his six years coaching the Rough Riders believes the team is due for their first playoff birth in school history. Saginaw beat a couple of 5a teams over the summer so this proves that the Rough Riders can handle 5a competition. The Rough Riders have seven returning seniors and have five returning Juniors so Saginaw has proven experience this season. The road to the playoffs will not be easy though and being in a district with schools like Coppell, and Southlake Carroll the Riders will have to give it their all in hopes for their first playoff birth in school history.
