Kayla Martin scored 16 points and Katie Blacker 14 points to lead Clinton Prairie past Carroll, 38-8, on Tuesday. Emma McKinney and Sarah Bruton added four points each. Tye Kerschner, Kenzie McElroy, Sophia Rominger were noted for their defensive play, and Kaylynn Morgan, Melodie Tolley, Taylor Cloud and Stormi Borders were noted for outstanding play.

The Gophers are now 2-1 on the year.

SIXTH GRADE BASKEBALL

St. Lawrence 26, Rossville 14

Rossville lost to St. Lawrence, 26-14, on Tuesday. Madi McMains led the Hornets with six points. Camryn Geheb scored four points and Mica Royer and Sarah Allred scored two points each. Robin Blackwell and Courtney Rodkey were noted for a good defensive effort.

JUNIOR HIGH SWIMMING

Western 125, Clinton Central 60

Western defeated Clinton Central, 125-60, in a mixed dual meet on Monday. Winners for Central were Isaiah Wyrick in the 50-yard butterfly (31.62 seconds) and the 200 freestyle relay team of Wyrick, Jackson Fouse, Kennedy Turner and Travis Riley (2:01.49).

Wyrick was second in the 100 IM (1:21.36), as was Grace Laughner in the 50 freestyle (31.10), Riley in the 100 freestyle (1:07.77) and Fouse in the 100 backstroke (1:24.69).
