EIGHT GRADE BASKETBALL
Western Boone 46, Frankfort 10
Frankfort’s A-team lost to Western Boone, 46-10, on Wednesday. Karina Ramos led the Hot Dogs with two points, three rebounds and three steals. Daimarely Ceja added four points and two steals.
Frankfort 16, Tuttle 14
Frankfort defeated Tuttle, 16-14, on Thursday night. Baileigh O’Brien led the Hot Dogs with eight points, Karina Ramos had six steals and five rebounds and Katie Sulfridge scored two points.
Clinton Prairie 30, Wainwright 15
Chey Grissom scored nine points and Shelby Fox eight points to lead Clinton Prairie’s A-team past Wainwright, 30-15, on Thursday. Megan Wall scored six points, Micha Ruiz had three points and Hannah Blacker and Kenzie Martin had two points each.
Prairie also won the B-team game, 24-6. Rosie Tolley, Coriden Schilling and Wall scored four points each and Mattie Howe scored two points for the Gophers. Makayla Hawthorne was noted for her rebounding and Blacker and Martin were recognized for their point guard play.
SEVENTH GRADE BASKETBALL
Frankfort 20, Tuttle 18
Kelli Ross was Frankfort’s leading scorer in a 20-18 victory over Tuttle on Thursday.
SIXTH GRADE BASKEBALL
Tri-Central 35, Rossville 15
Rossville’s A-team fell to Tri-Central, 35-15, on Thursday. Sarah Allred led the Hornets with five points. Madi McMains and Madison Struck added three points each, and Mica Royer and Mia Moore scored two points each. Robin Blackwell and Camryn Geheb were noted for good defensive effort.
Rossville won the B-team game, 23-9. Moore led with six points and Courtney Rodkey had five points. Macy Oliver and Royer scored four points, and Sydney Marlow and Allred scored two points apiece. Allie Dunk exhibited good defensive effort throughout the game.
FIFTH GRADE BASKETBALL
Clinton Prairie 31, Clinton Central 14
Clinton Prairie’s A-team defeated Clinton Central, 31-14, on Thursday. Katie Blacker led the Gophers (1-1) with 11 points. Kayla Martin scored 10 points and Sarah Bruton scored six points off the bench. Emma McKinney and Kenzie McElroy led the defensive effort for CP.
Prairie also won the B-team game, 24-6. For Prairie (1-0), Kaylynn Morgan scored 10 points, Bruton scored eight points, Stormi Borders had four points and Taylor Cloud two points. Sophia Rominger and Melodie Tolley led the team defensively.
MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING
Hornets take on Kokomo
Rossville wrestled Kokomo on Thursday night, and the Hornets won 11 of the 19 matches. Winners for the Hornets were Jacob Butcher (95 pounds), Jay Smith (100), Hunter Hicks (105), Austin Erdman (110), Butch Devaney (115), Dexter Porsey (120), Robby Gordon (125), Austin Brouer (130), Cole Bodine (135), Josh Guffey (140) and Hunter Mink (245). All won by pin except for Devaney, Porsey and Mink, who won via decision.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SWIMMING
Western 108, Frankfort 78 (G)
Western 145, Frankfort 22 (B)
Western swept a dual meet with Frankfort on Wednesday.
Winners for the FMS girls’ were Annie Giebel in the 100-yard IM (1 minute, 17.59 seconds), Elizabeth Rhoda in the 50 butterfly (35.99), Kamryn Dehn in the 100 breaststroke (1:21.28), and the 200 freestyle relay team of Giebel, Kiersten Adams, Rhoda and Dehn (2:05.01).
In the boys’ meet, Patrick Bartley placed second in the 100 freestyle (1:15.51) and Alex Large was second in diving (75.10 points).
Tipton 125, Clinton Central 60
Tipton defeated Clinton Central, 125-60, in a mixed dual meet on Thursday. Winners for the Bulldogs were Isaiah Wyrick in the 50 butterfly (34.64) and the 200 freestyle relay team of Jackson Fouse, Travis Riley, Kyle Meagher and Wyrick (2:23.93).
