EIGHTH GRADE BASKETBALL
Frankfort 0-2 in Lebanon tourney
Frankfort’s B-team went 0-2 in the Lebanon tournament on Saturday, losing to Lebanon, 40-2, and Clinton Prairie, 32-12.
Against Lebanon, Mija de la Rosa scored two points, Katie Sulfridge had seven rebounds and Kiley Cole four rebounds. Against Prairie, Cole, Sulfridge and de la Rosa all scored four points.
Clinton Prairie 29, Rossville 24
Clinton Prairie defeated Rossville, 29-24, on Feb. 6. Micha Ruiz led the Gophers with nine points while Chey Grissom and Maddi McKinney scored six points apiece, Coriden Schilling scored four points, and Shelby Fox and Kenzie Martin had two points each. Hannah Blacker was noted for her hustle.
Clinton Prairie 21, Lafayette Central Catholic 18
Coriden Schilling led Clinton Prairie with seven points in a 21-18 win over Lafayette Central Catholic on Tuesday. Maddi McKinney scored four points, Hannah Blacker and Kenzie Martin scored three points each, and Chey Grissom and Shelby Fox scored two points each. Micha Ruiz was noted for her defense.
Prairie 1-1 in Lebanon B-team tourney
Clinton Prairie’s B-team finished 1-1 in the Lebanon tourney last weekend, losing to Southmont, 25-20, and defeated Frankfort 32-12.
Against Southmont, Megan Wall, Kenzie Martin, Chey Grissom and Maddi McKinney led the Gophers with four points each. Coriden Schilling and Hannah Blacker scored two points apiece, and Rosie Tolley, Mattie Howe and Makayla Hawthorne were noted for their hustle.
Against Frankfort, Martin led CP with 17 points, Howe scored four points, Grissom had three points and Wall, Schilling and Makayla Hawthorne scored two points apiece. Tolley was noted for her defense.
SEVENTH GRADE BASKETBALL
Frankfort fourth at Lebanon tourney
Frankfort placed fourth in the Lebanon tournament on Saturday. The top scorers were Alia Sierra, Noemi Guijosa and Maisie Smith.
MIDDLE SCHOOL SWIMMING
Frankfort 106, Southmont 70 (G)
Southmont 121, Frankfort 30 (B)
Frankfort’s girls’ team defeated Southmont, 106-70, on Monday. Winners for Frankfort were Kamryn Dehn in the 100-yard IM (1 minute, 16.78 seconds) and 100 breaststroke (1:20.45), Annie Giebel in the 50 freestyle (29.84) and 100 freestyle (1:09.69), Bailee Laughner in diving (47.30 points), Elizabeth Rhoda in the 50 butterfly (38.18) and 400 freestyle (5:44.19), Kiersten Adams in the 100 backstroke (1:26.21), the 200 medley relay team of Adams, Dehn, Rhoda and Giebel (2:22.98), the 200 freestyle relay team of Dehn, Adams, Rhoda and Giebel (2:10.25).
Frankfort’s boys’ team lost, 121-30. Alex Large won diving (50.20 points) and Patrick Barley placed first in the 100 freestyle (1:16.19).
5th GRADE BASKETBALL
St. Lawrence 25, Clinton Prairie 24
Clinton Prairie opened its season on Feb. 8 with a 25-24 loss to St. Lawrence. St. Lawrence hit two free throws with three seconds left to lift the team to victory.
For Prairie, Kayla Martin scored 16 points and Katie Blacker scored four points and added several assists. Emma McKinney, Kenzie McElroy and Tye Kerschner led the defensive effort.
MIDDLE SCHOOL WRESTLING
Prairie, Rossville go head-to-head
Rossville defeated Clinton Prairie in 17 of the 21 matches Monday night. Winners for Rossville were Dave Devaney (two wins), Ben Devaney, Jacob Butcher (2), Jay Smith, Ben Rodkey, Hunter Hicks, Austin Erdman, David Hopkins, Butch Devaney, Dexter Porsey, Robby Gibson, Josh Guffey (2), Cole Bodine and Hunter Mink.
