Delphi 56, Rossville 41
Delphi won the Indiana Kitchen Basketball Classic with a 56-41 victory over Rossville on Saturday night. Brandon Tonsoni led the Hornets (2-2) with 13 points.
Seeger 54, Clinton Prairie 26
Clinton Prairie was held to nine first-half points en route to a 54-26 loss to Seeger on Saturday night. Kale Morris led the Gophers (0-2) with eight points. Luke Ticen and Austin Martin scored six points apiece, Merrick McGraw scored four points and Jordan Stillwell two points.
Faith Christian 73, Clinton Central 64
Faith Christian defeated Clinton Central, 73-64, in the seventh-place of the Indiana Kitchen Basketball Classic on Saturday. Jake Burton led the Bulldogs (0-4) with 22 points and Lane McCoy added 14 points.
Rossville 72, Tri-County 40
Rossville junior Brandon Tonsoni made all six of his 3-point attempts and finished with 22 points as Rossville beat Tri-County 72-40 in the Indiana Kitchen Basketball Classic semifinals in Delphi on Friday.
Mike Gregorash and James Baker were in double figures with 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Rossville led 41-20 at the half.
Girls’ basketball
North Montgomery 48, Frankfort 43
North Montgomery defeated Frankfort, 48-43, on Saturday afternoon. Cassidy Dubree and Taylor Kirby led the Hot Dogs (1-6) wit 15 points each. Sam Henderson scored five points while Laina Boggs, Tania Olivas and Jacenda Perry scored two points each, and Mandi Boggs and Adriana Olivas had one point each.
Frankfort led the game 11-2, but a lengthy run by North Montgomery put the Hot Dogs in a 16-point hole. The Hot Dogs climbed back to within three points and had possession of the ball but couldn’t get any closer. Kelsi Byrd scored 10 points for North Montgomery.
Frontier 35, Clinton Prairie 19
Class A No. 6 Frontier defeated Clinton Prairie, 35-19, on Saturday, giving the Gophers their first loss of the season. Kelsey Dunham and Madison Douglass led CP with six points each, while Abby Clark scored three points, and Jasmine Hanna and Paige Schoonveld scored two points each.
Prairie is now 5-1.
Prairie won the junior varsity game 30-19. Emily Sabens scored seven points, and Mallorie Humrickhouse, Lyndsay Lehr and Kayleigh Pletch scored six points each. The JV is also 5-1.
Eastern 58, Clinton Central 13
Class 2A No. 5 Eastern defeated Clinton Central 58-13 on Friday night.
Tri-County 38, Rossville 21
Rossville lost to Tri-County, 38-21, on Saturday afternoon.
Wrestling
Frankfort 3-2 at WeBo invite
Frankfort defeated Western Boone, Cloverdale and Crawfordsville to finish the day 3-2 at the Western Boone Invitational on Saturday. Cameron Risse (220 pounds) and Hugo Perez (132) both went 5-0. Syler Collins (120) and Martin Garcia (285) went 4-1 while Tyler Vela (138) and Jose Cervantes (195) went 3-2 on the day.
The junior varsity team competed at the North Montgomery Invitational. Isaac Alexander and Jason Belcher finished in first place while Alfonso Ruiz, Adrian Carrillo, Isaiah Hernandez and Emmanuel Martinez all took home second place. Devin Dubree, Dylan Ricker and Alex Greeno all got third.
Easterday goes 5-0 at Maconaquah invite
Rossville went 1-3-1 at the Maconaquah Invitational today, beating Tipton and tying Tri-Central. Adam Easterday led Rossville by going 5-0 at 132 pounds. Kyler Crow (126) and Joecy Martin (170) went 4-1, Ty Fadness (106) went 3-2, and Zach Soiseth (120), Trenton Fadness (138) and Seth Querry (145) all went 2-3.
Bulldogs 3-2 at Western
Clinton Central went 3-2 at the Western Invitational on Saturday. The Bulldogs defeated South Bend St. Joe 52-24, Hamilton Heights 38-37 and Taylor 50-21. CC lost to Western 47-23 and Kokomo 40-34.
Both Wyatt Lucas (126 pounds) and Jeff Scott (170) went 5-0 to lead CC. Cameron Campbell (138) and Jordan Petty (160) both went 4-1 while Colton Mennen (113) and Conner Mullin (132) finished with 3-2 records.
Trey McDaniel (106), Caleb Archibald (120), Adam Miller (182), Dallas Snell (195) and Tristan Shaw (285) all went 2-3.
