Frankfort fell to West Lafayette, 132-52, on Thursday. Sofia Byrd won the 500-yard freestyle (6 minutes, 23.15 seconds) and was second in the 100 butterfly (1:07.84). Arikka Martin was second in both the 200 freestyle (2:27.44) and 100 breaststroke (1:23.06).
West Lafayette 103, Frankfort 83
Frankfort lost a hard-fought dual meet with West Lafayette, 103-83, on Thursday. Individual winners were JT Montgomery in the 200 IM (2:10.27) and Charles Frey in the 100 butterfly (58.45) and 500 freestyle (5:42.09).
All three relay teams earned second-place finishes.
Guerin Catholic 51, Clinton Prairie 30
Clinton Prairie lost to Guerin Catholic in its dual meet opener, 51-30, on Wednesday. Bailey Jenkins (145 pounds), Lars Hovde (152), Nathan Moore (160),
Monty Young (170) and Tyler Casey (195) all won by pin.
Eighth grade basketball
Frankfort 54, Clinton Central 41
Carter Taylor scored 25 points to lead Frankfort past Clinton Central, 54-41, on Thursday. Griffin Harris added 11 points and Axle Brandenburg nine points for the Hot Dogs (4-3). Christian Vega was noted for good defense. For Central, Keenan Orr scored 23 points and Hayden Cheek six points.
Frankfort (3-2) won the B-team game, 17-12. For Frankfort, Jamain Flores scored eight points, Tyler Hall five points and Germain Salinas was noted for good defense. For CC, Westley Dora scored three points and Brantley Mosbaugh two points.
Rossville 35, Carroll 23
Jared Warren scored 12 points and Grant Mohler 11 points to lead Rossville past Carroll, 35-23, on Thursday. Matt Homco was noted for his defensive effort.
Rossville won the B-team game, 46-16. Bailey Spear scored nine points, Nate Clendennen and Cole Bodine scored eight points apiece, and David Taylor and Blaine Riley each chipped in six points.
Seventh grade basketball
Clinton Prairie 38, Carroll 33
Clinton Prairie held Carroll to one field goal in the fourth quarter, rallying to beat the Cougars 38-33 on Thursday. Sam Schoonveld led the Gophers with 19 points and Logan Martin was also in double figures with 10 points. Collin Stroup scored five points, Mitch Coapstick three points and Kam Peters one point. Coapstick and Schoonveld led the rebounding efforts.
Carroll won the B-team game, 26-23, as Prairie missed a 3-pointer as time expired. Travis Biery led with seven points while Sam Ecenbarger scored five points, Brenden Fingerle four points, Walter Martin three points, and Jacob Hamilton and Zach Randle two points apiece.
