Home » Cross Country NewsEagle/Griak Performers of the MeetSeptember 30, 2011 By Chris Harder of Rosemount Cross Country![]() Alyssa Watkins She had her second top 10 finish in the C race at the Eagle Invitational at Apple Valley. The Frosh's work ethic has led to steady progress this season as she dropped over 2 minutes off her 2 mile time. Danny Kleiber The freshman won the 9th grade race at the Eagle Invitational. He bided his time the first mile and half, then made his move and kicked home to victory to lead the frosh to their first championship since 2008 (current senior class). Hannah Grim The sophomore is a steady performer in meets, leading the Irish in all three meets so far this season. A two-time state individual and team qualifier, Hannah appears poised to lead the Irish at another run for St. Olaf. Michael Sampers The Eagle course in Apple Valley is supposed to be much more difficult than the Apple Jack layout in Lakeville. The sophomore dropped 20 seconds from his time, one of the few to improve his time on the tougher course. A consistent work ethic has served Michael well. Last year, his first 5k was 21:16 at the fast track at Brooktree in Owatonna. This year, he ran 18:49 at Valley with a month still left in the season.
