Kevin Sutton, Taybri Irving, Thana Hussein, Ryan Brumm, and Joe Carlson were named Rosemount Performers of the Meet for the home Irish Invitatioanl on September 2. Kevin Sutton In 9th grade, Kevin ran 15:55 on the two mile lay-out at Rosemount High School. On Friday, the junior toured the course in 11:36. The 4:19 drop in time is an example of Kevin's work ethic and can do attitude. Taybri Irving The junior has continued to improve since her 16:10 time at the invitational two years ago. Taybri started the season with a 14:39 at the Alumni meet, then improved by over a minute in the JV race with a 13:34 effort that kept her contention with the leaders for much of the race. Thana Hussein The senior ran 17:05 in her first attempt at the two mile lay-out at RHS. Mainly a long sprinter, Thana has emerged as a fine distance runner with a solid 12:50 effort. Thana cracked the varsity for good last year after winning the Ev Berg Invitational JV race last October. She has improved considerably through hard work and gradually increasing her training load. Ryan Brumm The freshman won his first race in an Irish uniform with his victory in the C race. Biding his time, Ryan unleashed his kick in the final 150 meters to win with a time of 11:18. Ryan competed for Scott Highlands last year and had a steady summer of training as he continues to make huge gains in his fitness. Joe Carlson The senior won his first ever high school race with his victory in the JV with a time of 10:53. As a sophomore, Joe's best mile time in track was 5:09. He has improved considerably since then and will debut on the cross country varsity at the Apple Jack Invitational in Lakeville next week.
