Irish Win True Team Title

True Team Results

The Irish won the Class AAA True Team title at Stillwater High School on Friday evening.  Rosemount finished second last year after winning the title in 2009.  Rosemount distance had a strong showing.  The 4x800 team of Chris Mergens, John Evenocheck, Sam Temple, and Chandler Dye opened the meet with a 7:54.40, third best Irish time in school history.  The 1600 squad of Shane McCallum (4:21.38), Tyler Henkemeyer (4:25.03), and Nathan Rock (4:26.26) all finished in the top 10 of the 27 man field.  In the 400, Goaner Deng (49.89) and Chris Mergens (51.85) supported teammate Andrew Hausmann (49.40) with top 10 finishes.  The 800 squad went 2-3-8 with Chandler Dye (1:57.17), Sam Temple (1:58.41), and Tyler Henkemeyer (2:00.79).  The Irish took the lead with the 3200.  Shane McCallum (9:38.90), Nathan Rock (9:39.93), and Calvin Lehn (9:40.95) went 4-5-6 to put the Irish up 12 on Eden Prairie.  The 4x800 squad bookended the meet with a victory in the 4x400 (3:24.40).
