By Chris Harris
Henderson Daily Dispatch

HENDERSON
- Northern Vance did some relay work against Rocky Mount Wednesday night.

Darrius Dunston led the race off, he then passed the baton to Shawn Brown, who gave it to Savey Alston for the finish as the Vikings finished up the Gryphons' season with the 82-53 victory.

The Vikings advance to the sectional finals of the NCHSAA 3A boys playoffs, where they will host Northern Guilford on Friday. The Nighthawks defeated SouthWest Edgecombe 83-62 Wednesday.

"I think we played like champions tonight," said Vikings coach Wilton Baskett. "We've been calling ourself a team all season, and I think we looked like a team tonight. We were expected to win, but I'm pleased (with) the fashion we won."
