Jenkins wins 3-A state title in the 110 hurdles

GREENSBORO - Rocky Mount senior Jacobi Jenkins won the state championship in the 110 meter hurdles Friday at the NCHSAA 3-A track and field championships held at N.C. A&T University's Irwin Belk Track.
Jenkins, who signed to play football with East Carolina back in February, won the event with a time of 14.40 seconds.
Jenkins, who also claimed the east regional title in the event last weekend, finished second in the 300 meter hurdles to rival Danny Allen of Nash Central. Allen clocked a 37.89, besting Jenkins' 38.92.
The nearest other RM individual winner was Zikeena Parker who finished third in the 200 meter dash (25.36).
Mooresville won the 3-A state title for boys, while Jacksonville took the 3-A girls crown. RMHS placed in tie for 17th in girls competition, while the boys team was 12th. |
