Home » Girls' Tennis NewsRM plays great in girls tennis win over FikeSeptember 12, 2012 By Charles Alston of Rocky Mount High SchoolWILSON - Rocky Mount's girls tennis team got back to .500 (1-1) in Big East play Tuesday afternoon with an 8-1 win at Wilson Fike.
"This was by far the best overall match we have played," said Rocky Mount head coach Barry Nethercutt. "We finally looked like the type of team I thought we would be this year. Everyone moved the ball around, dictated points, closed in on volleys just as we have been doing in practice
"Doubles looked especially good and we added some new things in doubles that the girls really were not comfortable trying but they did it and it worked really well."
Rocky Mount improved to 6-1 on the season with the victory. Next up for the Gryphons is a home Big East match with Southern Nash Thursday afternoon.
