Gryphons finish in top three in track regionals

SWANSBORO - The Rocky Mount Gryphons’ defense of their 3-A East Regional track & field titles had their share of ups and down.
“It was an eventful day to say the least,” boys’ coach Dee Anna Davis said.
Both the boys’ and the girls’ days ended on a slight downslope – as far as repeating as regional champs is concerned.
The boys finished second, 5.5 points behind Jacksonville White Oak, and the girls finished third, which might have been a surprise to most.
