WILSON - A four-run uprising in the bottom of the sixth inning culminating with a walk to senior Chris Phillips enabled the Fike High varsity baseball team to celebrate Senior Night in style, rallying for a 7-6 3-A Big East Conference conquest of visiting Rocky Mount.

In the sixth, the Golden Demons (14-7, 3-6 BE), began their outburst with a sacrifice fly off the bat of freshman Charlie Vaughan that scored senior Nathan Everett.

Run-scoring singles by junior Tyler Poythress and senior Dustin Edwards enabled Fike to tie the game, with Phillips drawing a bases-loaded walk that allowed senior J.D. Sherrod to score.

Senior left-hander Travis Ricks picked up the win on the mound for Fike, striking out eight and allowing six hits. Ricks walked six in the complete-game effort.

Edwards was 3 for 4 with three RBIs and a double. Vaughan and Ellis were each 2 for 3.

Fike, which concludes regular-season play at Northern Nash on Thursday, marked the contributions of Ricks, Edwards, Sherrod, Everett and Phillips.
