Murray leads #1 Medomak into semi's

Bangor - Senior forward John Murray led his #1 Medomak Valley Panthers to the 52-47 victory over # 8 Camden Hills Windjammers 52-47 on Saturday afternoon at the Bangor Auditorium. Murray scored a game high 25 points and went 12-16 from the free throw line.
Saturday was the first full day in the 2013 Eastern Maine high school basketball tournament.
Senior guard Jonathan Hendrickson-Belloguet chipped in with a key three point play and scored seven points. Despite him getting into the foul trouble early on in the game, Belloguet three-point play gave the Panthers a 43-40 with four and in half minutes left in the game.
Nichalos DePatsy (son of Coach Nick DePatsy) finished with eight points, senior Micah Williamson struggled to get points scoring all six from the free throw line, senior Ryan Ripley added six and Zach Little chipped in with two points.
Camden Hills did not go away quietly. Senior guard Connor Hart scored 13 points and went 6-7 from the free throw line to cut Medomak’s lead to three with four and a half minutes left in the game.
Five players scored for the Windjammers. Jayson Kuhn’s finished with 17 points and went 5-7 from the free throw line, junior Chandler Crans had 10, junior Colin Morse added four and junior Connor Graffam chipped in with three points.
The Windjammers finished the season at 13-7.
Camden shot 52 percent (15-25) from the free throw line. The Panthers shot 65 percent (20-31) from the charity stripe.
Medomak will take on #13 seeded Foxcroft Academy on Wednesday night at 8:35pm for the Class “B” boys semi-final.
