Home » Girls' Basketball NewsKnowlton and Pease lead Camden Hills in upset victory over #2 OceansideFebruary 18, 2013 By Ryan Kimball of RK Sports ProductionsBangor - Senior forward Jordan Knowlton scored a game high 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds to help #7 Camden Hills Windjammers upset #2 Oceanside Mariners 54-39 on Friday night at the Bangor Auditorium. Camden size was too much for Oceanside to handle. Knowlton and sophomore center Rachel Pease dominated all game. Pease scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds. This tandem is nearly unstoppable when they come to play as we saw on Friday night. Pease played great defensively on Grover. Knowlton and Pease controlled the boards getting 26 rebounds together. Knowlton, Pease, Hilt and Legage combined for 52 rebounds in the game. Other scorers for the Windjammers were junior forward Bekah Hilt with seven points and eight rebounds and senior guard Megan Legage chipped in with six points and five rebounds. Camden slowed down senior standout Kennadi Grover from Oceanside to 10 points. Six players scored for the Mariners. Sophomore guard Emily Gould led Oceanside with 15 points. Senior guard Hannah Plourde added eight, senior center Phobe Ferraiolo contributed with four and senior guard Emma Davis and junior guard Brooke Dugan each chipped in with one. Neither team shot good from the line. The Mariners struggled all night. This was a major factor in the end result of the game. Oceanside shot 36 percent (5-14) from the from the free throw line. Camden shot 25 percent (7-22) from the charity stripe. Camden will play #3 Nokomis in the semifinals on Wednesday afternoon at 2:05 p.m.
