Libby leads the Old Town boys to win over Caribou

Old Town - Senior Garrett Libby scored 14 of his game high 23 points in the first half to lead the Old Town Coyotes to the victory over the Caribou Vikings 59-47 at Old Town High School on Saturday night.
Junior Zach Bartlett helped with his intense defensive pressure and rebounding limiting Caribou from getting any second chance points.
The Coyotes had a 31-16 lead at halftime.
Caribou outscored the coyotes in the third quarter 17-10 cutting the lead to 41-34. The highlight of the game was Donavon Savage’s 3-pointer at the buzzer to end the quarter.
Senior forward Tyler Lynch contributed with nine points and was a presence both defensively and rebounding. Garvey Melmed finished with 10 points going 4-4 from the free throw line.
Savage led the Vikings with 13 points. Cody Herbert finished added 11, Matt Millard had six, Adam Collins with five and Derek Richardson chipped in with four points.
Old Town will go into break with a 4-1 record and will travel to Foxcroft Academy on Friday December 28th. After Christmas break, they will look to continue their two game winning streak. Caribou will host Ellsworth on Thursday December 27th.
