Old Town - The Presque Isle girls looked like they picked up where they left off after last season year’s appearance in the state championship versus Lake Region. The Wildcats are a senior laden team.
Sophomore Hannah Graham scored a game high 14 points to lead the Wildcats to the victory over the Old Town Coyotes 71-23 at Old Town High School on Saturday afternoon.
Presque Isle had several contributors in their win. Senior Megan Ireland scored 13 points, Senior Chandler Guerrette added 11, Krystal Kingsbury with nine and Regan Nelson had seven points.
Other scores for the Wildcats were Liza Buck and Taylor Williams who each scored six points and Laurin Ackerson chipped in with five points.
“Without Meredith Stewart in the lineup Taylor Williams and Regan Nelson stepped up and played well in her absence,” said Ireland.
The Lady Coyotes had trouble with Presque Isle’s Defensive pressure all day.
Ireland said they are continuing to work on increasing their defensive pressure against teams.
Kelsey Hesseltine led the Coyotes with six points and Brook Cole added four points in the losing effort.
Old town will take on Orono in a cross town rivalry on Tuesday December 18th. Presque Isle will travel to take on Houlton at Houlton on Monday December 17th.
