Orono - After coming off a close game the Lady Red Riots took on a George Stevens team that was coming off a 3-15 record and looking to improve on that with a roster filled with three seniors, four juniors and four freshmen.

Orono started the game on a run scoring the first eight points in the first five minutes of the game. The Red Riots get the victory over the Eagles of George Stevens 46-31 to improve their record to 2-0.

Sypher scored 12 of her 16 points in the first half to lead the Red Riots. Woodward scored eight of her 10 points in the first half with most of her points coming in the paint.

Others players who contributed for Orono were Freshman Hannah Clement scoring 5 points, Junior Katie Smith chipped in with 3 points, Junior Elea Kass had four and Junior Elizabeth Hardison finished with 2 points.

Orono will face Central at home on Saturday December 15th at 2:30.
