Orono - Thursday night, Fisher College a small NAIA school out of Boston, Massachusetts came into Orono looking to play a Black Bears team who had come off a loss to Duquesne.

Maine started the game really hot showing some resemblance to a D1 program going on a 12-2 run scoring at will throughout the whole first half. The Black Bears shoot 65 percent (19-29) from the field and held Fisher College to only 20 percent (7-34) from the field in the first half.

The Black Bears dominated the whole game holding all Fisher College players in single digits. This was a game where the starters only played sparingly throughout the game allowing pretty much everyone on the team to play. Maine was able to give the crowd a spectacular array of dunks three from Justin Edwards in the first half along with a few others.

Alasdair Fraser led the Black Bears recording a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Xavier Pollard added 14 points and two rebounds, (63 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line) Zarko Valjarevic with 13 and Justin Edwards scored 12.

Other scorers for Maine were Till Gloger who finished with 12 points, along with a few others such as Stefan Micovic with 10 points.

The Black Bears improve their record to 3-5 with their 97-42 victory over Fisher.

Maine will Travel to Tallahassee, Florida where they will look to beat a team who lost a couple nights ago at their home court to one of their in state rivals University of Florida 72-47.  The Game will be televised on ESPNU Sunday at 4 p.m. Who knows maybe Dick vitale will be calling the game.
