The Royals defeated Forest Hills last year in Augusta 83-45 winning their first state title since 1993. Jonesport Beals returns basically their entire team from last season. Senior Garet Beal is one of the best players in the state of Maine this season, which makes them the team to beat in class "D". The Royals have all five starters back from last year's state championship season. Vinal Crowley, Marcus Smith, Leon Smith and Cole Beal complete their starting lineup. Jonesport Beals team consists of five seniors, three juniors, two sophomores and one freshmen. I talked to head coach Gordon Faulkingham about the upcoming season. Coach Faulkingham was excited about the season and knows their is a lot of competition in class "D" this year.
