Home » Boys' Basketball NewsPenquis boys basketball team poised for another good seasonDecember 2, 2012 By Ryan Kimball of RK Sports Productions(Watch video interview at end of the story with Penquis boys coach) Hampden - The penquis Patriots boys basketball team finished fourth in class "C" last season and are hoping to have another great year. The patriots lost in the semifinals to Lee Academy in double overtime last year. Penquis has their leading scorer back from last year, Isiah Bess, who is one of the best players in class "C." Trevor Lyford, a junior on the team is coming back this season, which helps Penquis in a big way. The Patriots have four starters returning and are going to be a force this season. Tony Hamlin the Patriots head basketball coach knows this could be his year to win an eastern maine championship. I talked to coach Hamlin after their games at Hampden Acadmey's preseason basketball tournament. He talked about his expecations for the upcoming season and some of the top teams in class "C."
