Student Information 

  • Monday will be the first grade check of the second semester. The academic policy will be in effect for all D's and F's
  • Gr 11-12:  Sign up on the Guidance Board to meet with the Missouri Western State University (St. Joseph) rep visiting here on Tuesday, Jan 27 at 9:00.  Make arrangements IN ADVANCE with your teacher for make-up work.
  • Guidance/Talent Search workshops on Wednesday, Jan 28.

  •  Student Council will be having a meeting on Tuesday January 27th at 7:35 in Mrs. Burkhead's room.
  • Cainsville is selling East Harrison Shirts. Please stop by the office for a form. Orders are due 1/26/15.
  • The Senior class is once again taking orders for Bobcat Apparel. The deadline for orders is February 6 and estimated delivery of orders is February 20. Please see a senior class member, Mrs. Perkins, or Mrs. Jackson to order.

1. Flu Cases in Missouri Keep Rising

About a month ago there was about 1,000 cases of the flu reported in Missouri. Last week there was nearly 5,000 flu cases reported. This started in November. The flu cases are being reported from all over Missouri. People need to be aware of the flu cases because its easy to get the flu from other people. Make sure to wash your hands, use tissues, and cough in your elbow!

2. Arctic waters could hold the key to creating life saving drugs. Scientists are studying sea life in the Arctic Circle to see if they can find bacteria to help make new antibiotics to treat common diseases. 

3. President Obama with give his State of the Union Address tonight at 8 p.m. It will be aired on television live from the capitol building in Washington D.C.  The State of the Union is a speech given when the president tells Congress what his goals are for the new year. One of the big issues that will be discussed is taxes.
