August 6, 2014
Richmond RiverRats

Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Dalton Boucher could carry the Richmond RiverRats (24-35) past the Butler Blue Sox at Pullman Park on Tuesday as the Richmond RiverRats suffered a 5-4 defeat.

The Richmond RiverRats were led by Boucher's hitting. Boucher went 2-4 and drove in one. He tripled in the fourth inning and singled in the eighth inning.

Boucher brought the heat against the Butler Blue Sox (40-20) during his outing. Boucher held the Butler Blue Sox hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Ryan Uhl had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the second inning and homered in the fourth inning.

Tyler Slepski picked up the win for the Butler Blue Sox. Slepski pitched 7 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and two walks while striking out five.

Bowie Matteson (1-7) took the loss for the Richmond RiverRats. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed five runs.

The Butler Blue Sox were sparked by Ryan Hanahan and Uhl, who teamed up for four hits and three RBIs.
