GAME ONE

The Richmond RiverRats (13-21) beat the Lorain County Ironmen (13-22) 7-6 in seven innings on Thursday at The Pipe Yard behind Zach Fairchild, who drove in three runs.

He singled in the third inning and doubled in the sixth inning. 

Carlos Ortiz was hot from the plate for the Lorain County Ironmen. Ortiz went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He tripled in the second inning. 

Reed Evans got the win, running his season record to 2-2. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out two, walked three and surrendered four hits.

Jamie MacLean ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed three runs.

 

GAME TWO

The Lorain County Ironmen (14-22) beat the Richmond RiverRats (13-22) 7-2 in seven innings on Thursday at The Pipe Yard behind Lucas Raley, who had two extra base hits.

He doubled in the third and fifth innings. 

Ben Standiford improved to 2-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Lorain County Ironmen. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out one, walked four and surrendered three hits.

Jack Granath (2-2) took the loss for the Richmond RiverRats. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked one and struck out four.
