TERRE HAUTE, IND. — Kyle Jackson hit seven home runs to claim Tuesday’s Prospect League Home Run Derby. The Richmond RiverRat added another in the game.
Jackson blasted a three-run home run to help the East defeat the West 9-2 in the All-Star Game at Bob Warn Field and was named MVP.
He and Coastal Carolina University teammate Mike Paez both started the game, both had a hit and both scored twice to help the East claim a second straight win. The West now leads the series 3-2 with a tie in 2010.
Paez also stole a base. Brendon Neel, Justin Paulsen and Matt Brankle of Earlham College also represented the ’Rats.
Paulsen had two hits off the bench and Brankle retired the two batters he faced.
