The Chillicothe Paints make the most of 9 hits in 9-6 victory over the Richmond RiverRats

The Chillicothe Paints (12-5) and the Richmond RiverRats (6-12) both had scoring chances on Monday, but it was the Chillicothe Paints that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 9-6 win at McBride Stadium.
Diamyn Hall racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chillicothe Paints. He singled in the seventh inning and homered in the eighth inning.
The Richmond RiverRats' lineup had no answer for Trace Dempsey. The Richmond RiverRats managed just one hit off of Dempsey, who allowed no earned runs, walked two and struck out five during his two innings of work.
A bright spot for the Richmond RiverRats in the defeat was Bowie Matteson, who allowed only three runs while striking out six.
Shea Murray improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Chillicothe Paints. Murray struck out one, walked two and gave up two hits.
Chad Whitmer (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
