August 5, 2012
Richmond RiverRats

BECKLEY, W.VA. — Strong pitching and timely hitting had the Richmond RiverRats trailing four runs through four innings on July 14.

When the game was picked up Saturday, more of the same came early.

The Miners scored five runs in the fifth inning and added two more in the sixth, earning an 11-0 victory over the RiverRats.

The RiverRats made sure that didn’t happen in Game 2 of the doubleheader.

Justin Pearson finished a single shy of the cycle and led the game off with a home run, leading the RiverRats to a 12-4 victory in the nightcap.
