Home » Baseball NewsRiverRats race to winAugust 3, 2012 Richmond RiverRatsRichmond remains in control of its own destiny. The RiverRats are still in first place, still contending for a playoff spot and still powering their way to wins at McBride Stadium. Cody Campbell drove in three runs, Jordan Fortner homered and Richmond downed Slippery Rock 7-5 on Thursday night. The RiverRats are tied for first place with West Virginia, and are 1½ games ahead of Chillicothe as the Prospect League’s East Division race winds down in the second half. West Virginia already has a playoff spot sewn up by virtue of winning the first half. “Our guys know it’s a must-win every night,” said Richmond manager Tyler Lairson. It turned into a RiverRat rally on this night. http://www.pal-item.com/article/20120802/SPORTS/308020015/RiverRats-race-win
